			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today way going old school with some great hacks from the old bodybuilding days of Venice Beach. Since I’ve evolved over the years I’ve slowly gone away from the bodybuilding methodology of training and instead have starting implementing a modern day approach.<br />
But there are still some great “hacks” that these old school guys got right that still can completely apply to anyone trying to lose weight. And the best part is that NOT very many people know about these and it always blows my mind.<br />
Keep these hacks in mind next time you’re working out to enhance your fat loss process!</p>
<p>Cut Your Rest Time<br />
Cutting the time you rest between sets is a quick way to amp up your metabolism and get your internal engines revving. Although it is going to be A LOT harder to workout with slimmer rest times it will dramatically enhance your fat loss journey.<br />
The reasoning behind this is that your body will not be able have the sufficient time to go back to its normal resting state. Therefore it won’t allow your heart rate to slow down and it will keep your body burning calories.<br />
While lifting weights don’t rest more than 30 seconds between sets, even though you’ll have to go lighter in weight you will be working your body more effectively.</p>

<p>But I thought it would be a fun way to spice up your workouts every now and again by doing something like this and for the record I definitely do not recommend doing this workout all the time.  In fact, I would only do this workout at maximum once per week.</p>
<p>The rest of the week you should be doing total body workouts and working various muscle groups with high intensity.  But you can also throw in this workout to mix things up or if you&#8217;re stuck without any workout equipment and want to get in an awesome but intense bodyweight workout.</p>
<p>I remember reading about the 100 pushup workout but doing a 100 of the same kind of pushup is going to get boring super fast.  So instead of repeatedly doing the same exercise over and over again we&#8217;re going to mix things up a little bit in my ultimate pushup workout.</p>
<p>First of all I&#8217;m also going to drop the disclosure that I don&#8217;t recommend anybody to do this pushup workout if they have a chest or shoulder injury because doing so is likely going to cause to make it worse.  And with that out of the way let&#8217;s talk a little deeper about this pushup workout routine.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m going to give you the low down today.</p>
<p>Gluten is is the composite of two proteins and is found in grass related grains. They commonly use it as an additive in a lot of today&#8217;s food products which can cause a lot of problems for people with coeliac disease.</p>
<p>For some high quality supplements I would first check out my Prograde review.</p>
<p>Going gluten free looks to be hot now and what it involves is getting rid of any ingredients extracted from gluten-containing substances such as wheat, kamut, spelt, barley, rye, and triticale.</p>
<p>If you are really going gluten free I&#8217;d also eliminate most seasoning sauces since they employ a gluten based extract to thicken the liquid.</p>
<p>And since you&#8217;re at it you might want to get rid of oats since they&#8217;ve been most likely tarnished with wheat based products as they&#8217;re being processed in the factory.</p>
<p>Also, here are a couple of other substances which will contain gluten that you might not know about&#8230;</p>
<p>Ice Cream</p>
<p>Ketcup</p>
<p>Toothpaste</p>
<p>Beer</p>
<p>Lip Balms</p>
<p>Booze (all but some tequila, rum &amp; vodka brands made of potatoes, rice)</p>
<p>So you&#8217;re basically trying to kiss goodbye  all the gluten products which will cause serious inflammation in your body.</p>
<p>What you can substitute for those gluten based foods?  You can instead use rice, sweet potatoes, millet, quinoa, yams, chia seeds, etc.</p>
<p>Everything sounds really nice and healthy so far, right?  I like to call some gluten-free products the unicorn of the nutrition.</p>
<p>When a new diet fad appears on the market it&#8217;s the big corporations job to be able to compete and to compete as cheap as possible.</p>
<p>So when they do create their version of the gluten-free products they get very sneaky and use something that&#8217;s going to make things worse.</p>

<p>In today&#8217;s blog post I&#8217;m not going to give you any direct fat loss or muscle building tips and instead I&#8217;m going to focus on the mindset it takes to achieve success.  I can give you all the secrets and strategies I&#8217;ve learned to lose fat fast but it&#8217;s not going to do any good if you don&#8217;t take action on them.</p>
<p>A lot of people know everything they have to do to have a kick-ass body must still don&#8217;t have what it takes to get out of their funk and do something about it.  Taking action and knowing what to do are two totally different things and I&#8217;m going to break them down right now.</p>
<p>Most of us want to be successful but 97% of people don&#8217;t want to go through the pain it takes to get there.  It&#8217;s not easy losing weight right away and most people would rather stay up late watching Snooki on the Jersey Shore while eating ice cream than get a good nights sleep, work out the next morning and eat healthy throughout the day.  It&#8217;s just how things are.</p>
<p>And most people start off with a great goal of losing 30 pounds but they eventually after 2 weeks find out that it&#8217;s a lot harder than it sounded when they started.  Motivation starts wearing off and they&#8217;re happy with the 5 pounds that they ended up losing and they&#8217;ll &#8220;settle&#8221; there.</p>
<p>Settling is probably the worst mindsets that anyone can have because it tells them that it&#8217;s acceptable to not reach your goals and take the easy way out.  That&#8217;s why you&#8217;ll see only around 3% of people who are successful, rich and happy.  While the 97% of the rest of the world is miserable, broke, complains all day about the economy, talks trash about other people and are unhappy.</p>
<p>Motivation is something that will not go on forever, in fact it&#8217;s something that you&#8217;re going to have to work on every day.  I know every morning I start off with my meditation and listening to motivational stuff.  This really helps me start my day off positive and gets me going to have a positive mindset and just start taking action on things to get them done.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I&#8217;m going to dive into how to get rid of your aching knots and muscles with my myofascial release foam roller exercises blog post.  I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;ve seen the foam roller around the local health club or gym since it&#8217;s very quickly becoming one of the best training principles to include into your workouts.</p>
<p>And in this post I also want to answer some of your frequently asked questions about the foam roller and myofascial release because to be honest I hear a ton of questions every week on it.  I honestly don&#8217;t know everything about myofascial release and foam rolling but I&#8217;m hoping to help you understand the basics behind the principles and benefits of it.</p>
<p>To be perfectly frank with you there isn&#8217;t very much science out there behind foam rolling and it&#8217;s really unfortunate because this is one of those training methods that actually works and there&#8217;s very few, if any, scientifically based research studies on it.</p>
<p>Self-myofascial release using the foam roller is based around the GTO also known as the golgi tendon organ, which basically tells us the amount of tension in any particular muscle group or tendon.  As the tension in the muscle/tendon increases also does the likeliness of becoming injured.</p>
<p>As you foam roll the areas of higher tension you&#8217;ll effectively loosen the muscle/tendon areas by causing the GTO to relax and dramatically increase the range of motion in the joint, thus decreasing the likelihood you&#8217;ll become injured.  Nobody wants to be a big giant rock and although many people in the gym focus on becoming stronger they also put muscle pliability on the backburner.</p>
<p>Stretching is great and should be done following a myofascial release session on the foam roller.  Also keep in mind that stretching a muscle will increase the length of it while foam rolling will essentially improve the tone of the muscle.  Both of these combined together to make an awesome tag-team of healthy muscles, tendons and joints.</p>
<p>When you&#8217;re on the foam roller it&#8217;s really a matter of no pain no gain.  It&#8217;s just like getting a deep tissue massage and it&#8217;s supposed to hurt in certain areas because those are the trigger points.  In fact, if you&#8217;re not feeling anything then you either need to find a denser foam roller or you&#8217;re doing it wrong.</p>
<p>And you won&#8217;t turn into Stretch Armstrong overnight, it requires repetitive use and I recommend it to all of my clients everyday and before every workout that they do.  It only takes me around 5-10 minutes to complete a full body myofascial release session on the foam roller, and it&#8217;s worth every second.</p>
